After 20 years of being the head of the team, Christian Horner is out.

In July 9th 2025 after 20 years since his first gp start with Red Bull Racing, team principal Christian Horner was fired and replaced by Racing Bulls’ Laurent Mekies.

This marks an end of not just an era in the team but also of the teams identity because Horner was one of the last people left from that 2005 period where it all started for the energy drinks team. What surprised everyone was how quick this drastic decision from the team was taken as even Horner himself wasn’t aware of the process.

This leaves one of the best team principals in this era of F1 available for any team that want to improve significantly or even any project that wants to start with solid steps in the pinnacle of motorsport.
